Tidal waves,hat air baloons,erupting volcanos,convicts and good looking women. What else do you need.
So Krakatoa is west of Java, I could have cared less.
The special effects were excillent.
Maxmillian Schell gives his usual good preformance as owner of salvage boat,Brian Keith is a diver with lung problems,
Rossano Brazzi and son Sal Mineo try to spot werckage from air baloon,while John Leyton goes down in a deep sea bell and native girls dive down to the wreckage.
Ending ,each person must choose to stay aboard salvage ship or take a smaller boat to a near by island,those that made wrong choice are doomed. Film will never make the greats,but for entertainment value I felt it moved right along,was easy to understand and preformances were steady but not great. Just don't take too seriously and you should enjoy it.

Both movies are WWII reality based plots and are well done.
Bridge too far is based on Operation Market Garden and the invasion of the allies of the Netherlands in order to shorten the war. This was also the worse defeat of the European theater.
Battle of Brittan is the story of the RAF knocking down Hitlers plan to destroy Britain by air thus derailing his plan to invade....
Both movies are well done. Bridge being the best and was done as a "big" production with a world renown cast.
If You're a WWII buff this is the 2 pack for you.

Godard is a kind of philosopher. Instead of using arguments he composes nonlinear narratives; thus he is a kind of structuralist philosopher whose main concerns are signs and its effects. But he does not choose treatise or aphorism in order to convey his views. He is a filmmaker, and one of the most intelligent directors alive. Images (faces, books, paintings, snow, woods and ocean) overlapped by words and music is his art, his "exception against the rule". (For instance, check how he blends Parts or Darling music with texts or book's title written by Wittgenstein, Heidegger, and Cioran).
JLG/JLG is a self-portray. But is there a subject Godard? What is the relation between identity and language? The whole film is a patchwork of those rhetorical and vital obsessions; and it is a very good one.

Having been deeply involved with movies for longer than I care to mention here, I am always surprised and thrilled to discover a "new" and notable director from the "golden age" of cinema. Two years ago, it was the truly great Mikio Naruse. Last year the powerful melodramatist Rafaello Matarazzo. This year's find is the Finnish Teuvo Tulio who made a series of amazingly intense films from the thirties to the fifties, described by one online commentator as "sagas of sex and suffering". That was enough for me, and I immediately ordered this first of three sets of his complete surviving works. This box includes three films from the thirties and one from the forties, all with English subtitles and interesting extras. Added to The Way You Wanted Me, the best of the four, is a simultaneously shot Swedish version which comes from a better print than the Finnish, with more clearly visible and sometimes important detail. Each disc also has an informative short on Tulio's life and career. As I write this, I am eagerly awaiting delivery of the second Teuvo Tulio set which covers the rest of his forties work, including The Cross of Love and Restless Blood. If these titles sound appealing, Tulio is your man!

So great that we have watched it many times. The Alegria show includes excellent 'backstage' footage that gives us a understanding of the high degree of difficulty of the acts and a glimpse into the professional life of the performers. I believe it's also Alegria which allows the acts to be seen from different camera angles, which is also a treat. And what a value, relative to seeing these shows live!

I recommend this video to anyone with children! While in high school, I remember my younger brothers and sister (now 13, 12 and 10) watching it constantly. At the time, I wasn't particularly fond of it, but, since then, things have changed and I now have a son of my own (19 months). On my son's first birthday, my mother found our old tape and gave it to me. My son LOVES it and so do his friends (20-24 months). They watch it from beginning to end and ask for it again. The video features quite a few of my son's favorite things: a dog, choo-choo train, carosel, trucks (including 18-wheelers, fire trucks, etc.), hot air balloons and bikes. Some of the songs that appear on the video are "The Wheels on the Bus", "Row, Row, Row Your Boat", "I Love Trucks", "Off into the Wild Blue Yonder" and many more. My husband and I secretly have a fetish for this video and have to sing along too! BEWARE-Its contagious
