I saw this film at the academy of motion pictures screening, and have been looking for it ever since. Wonderful independent film making! More Asian American stories should be told like this one, it was warm and had a lot of soul! Great expression of emotional entanglement between a father and son. Shot beautifully as well!

Guitar Insights-The Beatles, Vol.1 Review

After reading the good reviews I went and bought this DVD and after watching it I have to say i'm very disappointed and completly disagree with those previous reviews. While this DVD does have alot of good features like looping and slow motion playing, it's missing one of the most important things: On screen or printed tabs/chords for each song. It does show you the leads, riffs, chorus parts but it's idiotic to not be able to know exactly what the guy is playing! You are going to have to watch each solo section 100 times or slow it down and write down for yourself exactly what is played on which fret, and even then you have to switch between close ups and wide angle to see exactly which string he did play. Would it have really been that much trouble to add onscreen TAB/Chord diagrams or a printed booklet? Unfortunately this DVD is just going to be an exercise in frustration for most people. There's no place on their website to download the tabs either. Novice guitarists will have alot of trouble with this DVD as there is no vocal instruction nor help or hints at how to play each song either. Plain and simple this DVD is just a guitarist playing Beatles songs with close ups of his hand. While it is a good first attempt by this company and really a decent price for the enormous amount of content as compared to the SongXpress series which only have 4 songs per DVD I would hesitate to recommend this to anyone other then Advanced players with good memories. I would have given it one star except that it does have pretty good sound for an instrucional DVD. Do yourself a favour and just buy a tab book as it's going to take you ten time longer to learn any of these songs by just watching this.

I think one of the most annoying things about movie critics is that they're supposed to know their stuff, but in the end they come across as just being college guys looking for something dirty to watch! Isn't it funny how they can't help but get down on a hilarious, old fashioned comedy like this and yet show them something like American Pie and it's great intellectual humor! A modern classic! Sickening! This movie was totally hilarious with hardly any sexual humor at all! Allright, just a hint here and there that wasn't necessary. Beyond that this movie was such a perfect comedy for everyone! I absolutely loved this movie! They used every cartoon trick in the book to try and stop that mouse! And wasn't Christopher Walken just incredible?!!! The casting in this was soooo great! It makes me so sad when movies like this come out and hardly get noticed by the public for whatever reason! Probably the lack of sex humor is evident and the previews and it keeps the movie goers away. Anyway I loved it! Do yourself a favor and pick it up! I've got it on VHS but hope to get the DVD eventually!

For once the liner notes are accurate; this was the best movie I had never heard of. In the first ten minutes of the film, I knew I was in for a treat when the female lead killed twenty or so thugs with her samurai sword, while completely butt-naked. What's not to love?

But this film has a lot more going for it than just graphic violence and kinky sex. The director's style of filmaking, the cinematography, the hypnotic imagery, and the soundtrack are just amazing. If you're like me, you'll find yourself humming the theme song.

Is it an erotic art-house flick or an exploitation film? You decide. This film is, in my opinion, a true cinematic masterpiece. I don't want to give away too many details because I don't want to spoil it for anyone. All I can say is, BUY THIS FILM. Once you've seen it, you'll be begging for more. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
