Ebony Chunky Love: Bitch can't get a date! Library and Education License Review

I loved Ebony Chunky Love: Bitch can't get a date! I have watched it twice already! I have for most of my life struggled with my body image the same as Keith. He owns it and I'm almost there. I know I will get there because of Keith.
He is so funny! His face and eyes light up when he is on stage. He is very good at bringing his life into his act and finding the humor and similarities with others in the audience.
If a overweight white lesbian from a small hick town can relate to Keith and Ebony Chunky Love anyone can! I recommend that everyone buy this DVD. It should be a required item for every gay & lesbian and well, just everyone!
I'll keep laughing and staying FABULOUS!!

Attributing the art of successful and harmonious riding to the ability of the horse and rider to perform in total unity, this video reveals how to develop such unity and explains where and why problems and faults occur in the rider's position.

Balance in Movement: The Seat of the Rider [VHS] Review

I took up riding as an adult, and have been struggling with sitting the trot on my warmblood mare with extravagant movement. I bought this book based on a review I read in an equestrian magazine, and by the time I had finished the first 3 chapters, went back and ordered 3 more copies (1 for each of my trainers, and 1 for my sister who would otherwise try to steal my copy). It has been incredibly helpful to me personally, and my trainer finds that some of the images and instructions are helping her to get through to other students better, as well. Probably the most valuable book in my rather large equestrian library!

Purcell - Sacred Music / Timothy Brown, Choir of Clare College, Cambridge Review

This is a beautiful series on sacred music, produced by the BBC, with the guidance of Simon Russell Beale and participation of Harry Christopher and The Sixteen. The first chapter covers the Gothic revolution, the second the time of Palestrina and the Popes, the third Tallis, Byrd and the Tudors and the fourth Bach and the Lutheran heritage. Russell's guidance is appropriate, enjoyable and with appropriate environment, as we can see in the first chapter, with the architecture of Notre Dame in Paris to illustrate and hear beautiful works as the Viderunt Omnes. The second DVD brings several bonus tracks (Tallis, Byrd and Allegri). Interpretations of The Sixteen are beautiful and appropriate, although short, because the dynamics of the series. Recommended for fans of sacred music. Perhaps the BBC offer a second part of this series, showing the great sacred works of composers such as Haydn, Mozart and Bruckner.

Acoustic Review

Why Sting has kept his Mtv-unplugged-performance so "rare" is a mystery to me. Musically this performance is as great as any true fan could ask for, but the sound (2.0 and 5.1 options) and picture quality on the dvd gives you a "bootleg"-feeling, not that it's extremely bad, but it's not very good either.

He performs eight songs, most from his then resent album (and my favorite!) "The Soul Cages", and he and his band delievers perhaps one of the most beautiful live-versions ever (next to the original) of "Why Should I cry...". If only the sound had been better here, it could need some filtering or something though I'm no expert here, other than that I must say that this is the kind of release that really could need remastering.

It surely was worth the 100 dollars I spend on this rare release, because I am a big fan and a collector.

Fortunately, John Wayne had two vastly more interesting feature films (Rooster Cogburn and The Shootist) left in him following this disposable, leaden 1975 fish-out-of-water story. Wayne phones in his performance as a Chicago cop, Jim Branni

Brannigan Review

From the time I saw Brannigan in the theaters as a kid, through a number of chances to watch it again over the years, it has been one of my favorite movies. I grew up with the crime dramas of the 1970s, had little patience for Westerns, and am sorry John Wayne had so little time left to make detective movies. His other police drama, McQ, was trying so hard to imitate other "gritty" characters and films, was so formulaic, artificial, confusing, dreary, stiff, heavy-handed, and clich , that these elements crowded out Wayne. Not so Brannigan.

Wayne shined. He was natural and utterly comfortable and convincing in the role. He was likable, frank, good-natured, decent, down-to-earth, and tough -- "so damn solid," as Geeson's character put it (to which he replied, "Fat, you mean") in a nice, genuine scene where Brannigan talked about wanting to catch the hood responsible for killing his rookie partner because it was his duty to protect the kid even though, no matter how "nice a story" it would make if the kid had been like a son to him, he had not even liked the "smart-aleck" kid. Wayne had terrific, commanding screen presence. He looked as fit and acted as vigorous as called for by the role. Suggestions in other reviews that he was "too old" or "too fat" are nonsense. The mature cast is a pleasant contrast to today's rampant superficiality.

All of the supporting actors -- Attenborough, Geeson, Ferrer, Vernon, Pilon -- were real professionals who similarly brought substance to their roles and played them smoothly and effectively. The characters were nicely sketched. For example, Attenborough's titled Scotland Yard official was not a caricatured fop or dandy; he was polished but also appreciated rough, direct action to get the job done, which created a nice grudging rapport between him and Brannigan. Both the policeman and the hit-man were portrayed effectively in this movie, with the policeman actually outsmarting and outmaneuvering the hit-man in believable ways. The story had action, energy, purpose, and humor. The dialogue was smart, and the plot interesting, with some clever touches. The photography and music made it all the more enjoyable.

This is a fun, smart, well-paced, well-produced detective story with a good plot, well-drawn and well-cast characters, and good locations. The movie is excellent entertainment. As such, I could not recommend it more highly. Reviewers who apparently failed to watch the film on its own merits and have nothing to offer but pseudo-sophisticated, overly general, cheap-shot criticisms do not do it justice.
