Max and Friends: Volume 1 is a multimedia skill building program for children with autism and related disabilities.

The innovative package uses DVDs, story books and music to present proven therapy-based exercises in a fun, simple format for children with special learning needs.

Max and Friends is organized into volumes of related skills. Volume 1 of the series focuses on Imitation, Commands, and Matching. Each skill is the focus of a DVD and an accompanying story book. Each DVD is comprised of up to 12 individual lessons, each lasting approximately 8 to 10 minutes. Each book is aligned with a DVD, with fun rhymes that reinforce the featured skill. All the music from the DVD �s � classic children� s songs and fun, skill-based original compositions � are included on a CD for parents to play anytime, anywhere. The package also includes an instructive manual designed to train parents in teaching, maintaining and generalizing the skills.

Developed by a team of autism therapists and children’s media professionals, Max and Friends is designed for children with special learning needs but is fun and entertaining for children of all developmental levels. Volume 1 is recommended for children under 6, but can be used for developmentally challenged children and adults of all ages. This is an excellent cross medium tool that is both educational and entertaining.

My two children have used Max and Friends for two years now. The program never tires and thanks to the pleasing childrens music it is sometimes a welcome relief for the parents too. We found that the children use the 3 learning DVDs (almost an hour each) as well as the colored illustrated books and music CD at different times of the day. Max has helped both my kids learn and at the same time kept them entertained. The creators.
