Created by photographer James Bidgood, PINK NARCISSUS is a lush, exotic, and remarkably beautiful erotic fantasia that explores the face and body of model Bobby Kendal as he slips in and out of erotic fantasies--fantasies which range from bullfights with himself as a matador and the bull as a leather-clad motorcyclist to being held captive for the pleasures of an Arabian ruler. Both the the aparment in which the character lives and the daydreams into which he slips are remarkably designed, recalling such artists as Parrish and Klimt, and the film emphasizes the tactile nature of everything it displays; one of the most memorable moments in the film, for example, are photographs of beads in motion that eventually segue into an erotic dance. The camera also explores Kendall's exceptional face and body in the same tactile manner, and whatever his actual virtues as a legitimate performer might be he is perfectly at ease with the camera's voyeristic joy, and the resulting images are powerful, memorable, and virtually define the term "erotic art."It might be supposed that this film appeals primarily to a gay audience, but over the years I have shown it to a great number of friends--male, female, gay, straight--and their response has always been one of fascination; the film exerts a hypnotic allure that few can resist. At the same time, however, I must note several things about the film that some may dislike. If you expect a purely "skin show" type film or simple pornography, PINK NARCISSUS is likely to frustrate, for it works its magic more via tantalization than blatant nudity; at the same time, however, there is enough graphic behavior in the film to give it an X rating even today. It is also a purely visual film (there is no dialogue of any kind), and it is very much an experimental "underground" 1970s film; as such, it actually does require a certain degree of intellectual effort and interpretation. These aspects of the film may leave some viewers cold, but those able to enter into its sensual world will find it a powerful bit of erotica. Recommended. Can't say enough good about the Bob Marley documentary. Extremely well done, supremely interesting, wonderfully informing and moving. 5 stars out of 5, if you like Marley at all, you owe it to yourself to see it. What more could this man have done for the world if he had lived longer? It would certainly be a better place, of that I and I have no doubt whatsoever! Could you be loved? Then be loved!

Alvin and the Chipmunks: Limited Edition Gift Set (with Ty Plush & Digital Copy) Review

This film teaches important lessons to children in a gentle and very entertaining way. Lesson One: Discipline is important to children. Lesson Two: Anything in excess, even fun, can ruin your life. Lesson Three: The entertainment industry, although glamorous, can be harmful. Stable family life is more important. And dads are important role models for young sons. Alvin and his companions Simon and Theodore learn these lessons from their surrogate father Dave and from the hard knocks they endure as they leave Dave and rise to recording stardom. Seldom have I seen such an entertaining film spell out such excellent values for young children. In terms of pure fun, the chipmunks are believable and so precious they can make you cry. Jason Lee is outstanding as the caring "dad", Dave. The music is wonderful: great remixes of "Witch Doctor" and the Chipmunks Christmas song. Don't listen to the critics on this one. It is amazing. See this with your little ones and talk to them about the lessons the chipmunks learn. Oh, and by the way, the movie makes everyone feel like a kid again! The munks version of Funkytown will make you want to get up and dance whether you're 9 or 90. Highly recommended.

The title says it all that U2 is back to the kind of music their known for, great guitar work by The Edge and soaring vocals from Bono this song reminds me that U2 isn't going to leave the music scene. This DVD includes the music video to "Electrical Storm" the video is not very different from previous because U2 has always been creative with their videos using very creative directors such as one of my favs "One" a must see if you like U2 all in all this DVD is a nice dolby 5.1 version or you could get the "Best Of U2 1990 - 2000" which includes many other U2 videos including this one.

Spider Man 3 [Blu-ray] Review

This movie is a "must see" for all superhero fans, action movie fans, and especially Spider-Man fans. There were many negative reviews floating around about this movie, but also many reviews claiming it was excellent as well. The range of different opinions was really surprising.

Modern special effects really do Spider-Man justice, and it is clear that a lot of thought went into this movie, as well as a lot of hard work with the computer animation effects. They are very high quality and truly seem real. There was so much going on, really a lot to sink your teeth into. It's complicated but still manages to be understandable throughout. It's around 2 1/2 hours long, but time flies because you are having fun. Some complained that there was not enough time with Venom, which is a valid point, but I'm sure that the movie in it's entirety will make up for that. All I can say is if you fit into one of the said categories, give this movie a chance. You will not regret it.

Saawariya [Blu-ray] Review

The '07 Bollywood film `Saawariya' (i.e.: Beloved) is one of the most visually stunning films I've seen in quite some time. The storyline is one of those unrequited love themes that we're all familiar with; Raj (Ranbir Kapoor) falls in love with Sakina (Sonam Kapoor) who is in love with Imman (Salman Khan). While Imaan is away Raj attempts to win his way into Sakina's heart while another woman, a local prostitute played by Rani Mukherjee both narrates the love story as an objective observer and plays the part of a forlorn lover who hopes to win Raj for herself.

Though the tale unfolding is as old as time the presentation is inventive magical and totally mesmerizing. The soundtrack is also quite good though not quite your usual Bollywood faire, drift back and forth between festive and upbeat to melancholy and haunting. Well worth a watch for the visuals and music alone. If you enjoyed `Moulin Rouge' than you should certainly appreciate this film too.
