Let's Dance Aerobic & Fitness DVD Review

There are no menu options & it was in Russian with English subtitles. There are no chapter choices during play either, but they do go in slow motion to learn the dances. Also, there are no modifications, so try your best, but never push yourself to what they can do since they are professionals with high stamina & amazing flexibility.
Alla Zorikova & the other dancer are very flexible, graceful with great control. The music is all real full songs of 90s w/singing - recent most remixed American dance music that goes right to the next song after each. It's a great motivator and makes it fun.
The camera work is ok, does many angles including closeups with a hand held. Sometimes it moves around too much trying to be stylish & at times goes b&w that is unnecessary & can be annoying but it does it less as the dvd progresses.
There are no intros, etc.
Part 1/Warm up (5 min) - fast paced shoulder rolls, leg movements, hip rolls, shoulder rolls, undulations, etc. that actually feel great & inspiring. The camera work is annoying at best, but the moves feel so good, it makes up for it.
Part 2/Jazz dance & aerobics (10 min) - 3 routines, each are 3 min long, which they show you slow at first, then repeat fast. The first one is stretches & strengthens the waist & adds more flexibility to it using a lot of Lester Horton technique for the torso. The second is for opening up the spine & has kicks in different directions to strength & stretch the hips & legs. The last is more about a flexible spine, some minor back bends & moving the feet fast in box & grapevine mostly.
Part 3/Pilates (21 min) - You start in yoga bridge pose while also flexing your knees which helps open them up for over a min. Then the same pose going in/out of it, then the same with leg lifts. There is stretching always in between diff types of exercises. Next is side leg lifts in many diff positions that I've never seen before that felt great, spinal & leg stretches, other leg lifts, ab work such as crunches, push ups, etc. The moves all felt good, these woman know what feels good to the body & how different placements of the leg can make all the difference in the world. All movements are repeated on both sides.
Part 4/Cool Down/Stretch - uses songs from Enigma band. This is basic stretches for the legs, wide legged forward stretches, sitting spinal twists, plow pose in yoga, etc. Again, there are many more stretches then normally on average dvds for each type of stretch that makes a great difference.
This workout will really open up your joints, make you more aware of your body in a great way, the dancing makes you feel happy.

THE ONLY thing I don't LOVE is the PRODUCTION quality - the overuse of editing, camera angles & etc. that was annoying & that it is in Russian w/only subtitles to tell you things to avoid injury or things you might not see that you should be doing. If you can deal with that, after a viewing or two, this is easy to follow & a lot of fun for a fitness video & you should buy this dvd. Or at least check your library for a copy. Even when I'm tired, this workout energizes me.
I DO hope these dancers make ANOTHER video W/O those producers/directors.

How to forget this beginning, with Antoine (Fran ois Cluzet), a "failed writer" (like probably many in the audience) writing endlessly to his former girlfriend, each time lying more, giving a version of his success more distant to his low reality.

The first phrase about Fred: "he has astonishing capacity to do nothing" is like a mantra, he's the best at that :)!
The heist to Antoine's former job (and is aftermath), like Fred's botched attempts at photography to get to Claire Laroche's Agnes. Who's nothing special, but in the context of this professional losers, becomes like a diva, a porn star and an intellectual. The way he finally ends up making himself "useful" is weird to say the least :). Agnes's boyfriend acts and looks sick, a sexual pervert who could resort to anything. And Fred just doesn't care... Nonchalant as ever!

Scenes like the Karate instructor's punishment to Antoine would have been botched with most characters, not with Cluzet, who seems to be born to the role. He enters the tatami already cowering, knowing his defeat. Then he's a bit cheeky, like: "What are these suckers doing?". Only later, when he realizes that he's next, and he's going to be trashed... his look is just hilarous! Nowhere better applied this axiom that "the attitude with which you face problems precludes, or causes, the way you'll handle them". Or their attempt to "be nice" to the flat owner, Fred being "a student" (said with the same panache than most real life loafers :)), Antoine even pretends to be ending medicine (and has to suffer the consequences!).

Heartly recommended!
Cluzet played Luc (the killer's best "friend") at "L' Adversaire" (2002), and before L'Enfer, making life miserable to beau Emmanuelle B�art which demonstrates what a versatile actor he is.
Pierre Salvadori had just directed Cible mouvante, a similar story.
When I saw this film I just couldn't stop making connections with Bertolucci's "The dreamers". But whereas Bernardo's dream conveyed no empathy for any of the characters, in here we like them both (and they're not exactly likeable or have "redeeming qualities", like Tom Brooks (BBC's "Talking Movies"'s presenter) uses to say for criticizing bad movies.

IMDB's reviewer dbdumonteil is right at: "its tendency to keep an uplifting look in gloomy social conditions" and "focus on these two unconventional people, unable to adapt themselves properly to the society and to cope (...)".

The ending is FINE in the sense that there are no Hollywood changes, uplifting morales or corny music. Just life, in its endless complexity, like on Martha Stout's book "The myth of sanity".

Overally, fun and enlightening story about characters who just couldn't care less for society, but end up with us caring for them.

You should watch this movie expecting a great check-your-brain-at-the-door flick, and it doesn't disappoint on that count. There are wild west gunfights, love interests, and aliens trying to take over the world -- what more could you ask for?

Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, and Olivia Wilde are residents of an old western town attacked by what a local preacher calls "demons." Those demons -- what we call aliens -- pillage and plunder, terrifying the locals and motivating them to drop old rivalries to defeat the new threat.

The plot is simple, although it has a couple unexpected twists. You won't walk away with your mind blown, but you also will have enjoyed the show. The aliens are designed well, the characters are intriguing, and the plot has just enough mystery to keep you interested. This movie won't likely be winning any Oscars, but it's a fun film.
