Crossing is a 2008 South Korean film directed by Kim Tae-gyun. It has been selected as South Korea's submission to the 81st Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. And while you might question some of the movie's plot as only a tear-jerking method, I would encourage you to read books and first-hand accounts of North Korean testimonies the subject.
