Rayman-Animated Series [VHS] Review

For anyone who liked the game Rayman 2, this video is very enjoyable. It consists of four episodes from a 3D animated TV series based around Rayman that never did make it to TV. The animation quality is superb, and there's a documentary at the end of the video telling more about how it was done. It's all done in UbiSoft's famous and beautiful Rayman 2 style, only at a much higher quality.The episodes, although apparently aimed at a young audience, are still quite funny. However, they are disconcerting to fans in that a whole new cast of characters is invented, completely different from any of the games. (Except for Razorbeard, who plays a small role in the video under a different name.) The characters are entertaining, though, particularly the whiner Cookie. The voice acting is very good overall but personally I found the voice of Rayman, done by Billy West, to be rather strange and not really suitable for the character. On the whole, this video probably would not be worth buying for people with no interest in Rayman, unless they have a strong interest in animation techniques; but for any fan of the games, this video is a really nice addition to your collection.
